It has superior properties to Asbestos and Non-Asbestos Fiber Compressed gasket.BIK-30100 is a non-fibrous material and has none of the health or handling problems associated with Asbestos. It has no binders or fillers. It is homogenous and not laminated. The gasket self-forms during torque down of assembly thus ensuring a perfect fit to flange faces.The BIK-30100 graphite gasket will not cold or warm flow.
Resistant to organic acids solvents, hot wax and oils. Impermeable to gases and fluids, corrosion resistant, excellent for sealing high temperature valves, shafts, and flanges, high thermal conductivity. Exceptions are strong oxidizing compounds such as concentrated nitric acids, highly concentrated sulphuric acids, chromium (VI) and permanganate solutions, chloric acid and molten alkaline and alkaline earth metals.
